The day after a heavy rain of more than 2", my daughter and I decided to go down to the River Walk to check on how the river was doing after Mother Nature decided to fill it back up. The river was wider in many places, and faster. In several places we could hear the water bubbling around newly fallen limbs and underbrush which the water's edge hadn't reached in some time. Areas which we had sat and played last year were now completely under water. Everything had a fresh, wet smell. Many limbs and trees have fallen, but the River Walk itself is clear. Any limbs that may have fallen in the path have been cut back or moved to ensure easy access all along the path.
Mahra and I enjoyed seeing all of the water in the newly satiated river, and spend some time watching and talking about the changes since the last time we were down there.
I hope you get the chance to get down to the River Walk while the Republican River is full.
