Piano Concert

Saturday, July 30th @ 7pm
Flyer has the wrong day, it is on Saturday July 30th

St. Francis High School Auditorium

Marj Bartlett Kramer
Marj is a classically trained pianist with a degree from Colorado Women's College. Her first piano was in her Grandma Bartlett's home north of Bird City. At 14 she had her own radio show, "Sunday Sound of Music" on KXXX. While living in Cheyenne County, Marj helped form the Northwest Kansas Piano Teachers' League. She and her husband, Jim, have four daughters who all studied piano.

Jennifer Kramer Lee
Jennifer feels she frustrated her mother and her piano teachers by her improvisation of both popular songs and hymns. "It was the way my hart worked," Jennifer said. Like her mother, she attended Colorado Women's College, majoring in music. Although Jennifer is a busy real estate agent, she still finds time to write, play, and sing her own music. She is now sharing her musical gifts in person and on CD.

Written by Fred Wedel, Retired NRCS District Conservationist

What are cover crops? Cover crops are grown for the protection and enrichment of the soil. In Agriculture, cover crops are used to cover and protect the soil rather than to be harvested.

Cover crops are used to manage cropland and reduce soil erosion, improve soil fertility, improve soil quality, improve water storage, reduce pressure from weeds, pests and diseases, and improve biodiversity and wildlife in an agroecosystem.
