Today's First Friday e-call proved that access to quality child care is a tremendous challenge for our communities, but well worth the investment.
Aimee Baker, K-State Research and Extension- Wichita County, related how their community worked together to break ground on a new Child Care center. You can view and download Aimee's slides here [1] or on the First Friday archive [2] along with the recording from today.
Next month's program is Supporting Farm Entrepreneurs:
"Although agriculture is the largest economic driver in Kansas, consumers have seldom felt empowered to support local farmers. Join us on July 2 to learn how to support individual farmers and gain access to local food." Rick McNary, founder of the FB group, Shop Kansas Farms with 148K subscribers, proved people want local food and will tell what he has learned from that effort. Deb Brown co-founder of SaveYour.Town will share stories of other farmers selling local foods.
If you know someone who would like to hear this call, please forward the information.
