Ribbon Cutting of Van Service
Ribbon cutting on the Van service in Cheyenne County took place at 11 am on March 21st. at the Senior Center. There will be an open house in Bird City on March 27th at 11 am at the Bird City Senior Center.

202 on Washington Update
Renovation plans are progressing at 202 on Washington. Materials which will be used in the first phase of HVAC installation were delivered February 4th. Funds to pay for this first phase were made possible through grants from the Cheyenne County Kansas Community Foundation including a Dane G. Hansen Pass Through Grant for $10,000, and a $10,000 St Francis New Generation Grant. In addition, the Midwest Energy Community Fund Impact Grant awarded $5000 for this phase of the climate control project
The Roll Top Desk
The Roll Top Desk which sat for one hundred years in the Kite law offices (later Kite and Day Law Offices), 112 West Washington, St. Francis.
John and Elaine Raile Kite donated this golden oak to the Museum of Cheyenne County. It is now the centerpiece in the redesigned Law Office at the Museum.

On February 20th, 2016, Robert Martinez and Kelsey Dunn re-opened one of St. Francis' favorite places to eat, bowl, and hang-out. The Classic Rose and The Rustic Garden had it's official ribbon cutting ceremony this morning to celebrate a new owner and renovation. The members of the Cheyenne County Development Corp. were on hand to perform the ribbon cutting and highlight the addition of an important, new business in our community. Plus, they brought cake :)

The Republican River after a heavy rain
The day after a heavy rain of more than 2", my daughter and I decided to go down to the River Walk to check on how the river was doing after Mother Nature decided to fill it back up. The river was wider in many places, and faster. In several places we could hear the water bubbling around newly fallen limbs and underbrush which the water's edge hadn't reached in some time. Areas which we had sat and played last year were now completely under water. Everything had a fresh, wet smell.
